    Students’ Perception Using YouTube as The Tool to Learn English

    Lots of apps are created to make all the things easier to be done. For example TikTok, Facebook, You tube, WhatsApp, and another apps . The whole features would get when the user installed on their device. The objective of this research is to know the English students perception in using Youtube as one of the media in learning English. The focus of this research only discuss about YouTubeThe kind of this research is qualitative research with descriptive method. Qualitative research is a research that use to describe the data by explaining it without the number. There are 20 students from English department that choose as  the respondent. The instrument of this research is questinnaire. There are 15 statements given on the questionnaire. This research used likert scale to see the respon of respondent. The data is collected by using google form. Researcher share the link to each respondent.  The result of this study was most of the students agree Youtubes is better than another apps and the respondent more used Youtube than other apss to study English. Some of the primacy of this app such as; have longer time, various of video, provide paid and unpaid and it is not consumed big data. With these primacy, students’ agree that this app suit to study English. &nbsp

    Improving students` speaking skill by using describing pictures media at Grade X MAS Syahbuddin Mustafa Nauli, Padang Lawas Utara

    This research focused on the effect of using Describing Pictures Media in students speaking skill at grade X Mas Syahbuddin Mustafa Nauli Padang Lawas Utara. The problems of this research were students` achievement is low because students` lack of vocabularies, students did not have confidence to speak and students also could not produce the words directly. The formulation of the problems in this research are the students` speaking ability improved by using pictures and how does pictures improved the students` speaking ability. The objectives of this research were to know are the students` speaking ability improved and to know how is pictures improved students speaking ability. This research employed classroom action research that consisted of two cycles and each cycle was divided into two meetings. The procedure of this research was planning, action, observation and reflecting. The subject of this research was the students of XB MAS Syahbuddin Mustafa Nauli that consisted 25 students academic year 2020/2021. From the result of the data analysis of each cycles, researcher found that students speaking ability was improved. It supported by the result of the testing in cycle 1 and cycle 2. In cycle 1 the students` mean score was 64,60 and the percentage was 33,33% and in cycle 2 the students` mean score was 77,48 and the percentage was 77,77%. It was concluded describing picture media could improve students` speaking skill

    Speaking is a skill that involves verbal communication, such as deriving meaning between two or more people as a speaker and listener. The pread of technology make people easier to study. On of the digital tool to improve speaking ability is by using digital story telling or called DST. Lots of researcs about DST have been published and told how effective it is. The effectiveness of DST as a tool to support the learning of all four English language skills. In this study, a descriptive research technique, case studies, was used. The case study aims to explore that examine the characteristics of existing cases and try to describe them in detail. In this study used digital media in teaching speaking. The two most important methods used by Toontastic turned out to be scaffolding and subject familiarity. In their learning Regarding protocol, more than 50% of students said the gradual development of the story was driven by: Toontastic makes it easy to create your own stories. From a social constructivist perspective, Toontastic's resources were the bridge that took ZPD's performance to the next level

    Elevating English Proficiency: Crafting Esp-Based Digital Multimedia Learning Materials For Vocational Students In Indonesia

    The research aimed to create a systematic model for teaching ESP in vocational schools, using a qualitative approach combined with the Research and Development (R&D) method following Thiagarajan, Semmel, and Semme's 4Ds model. Preliminary research focused on defining student needs, leading to the development of ESP digital learning materials aligned with vocational skills. Data collected from two teachers and four classes, involving 115 students, included expert evaluations, observations, teacher assessments, interviews, and student questionnaires. The findings highlighted the successful implementation of tailored materials, positively impacting student engagement and teacher confidence despite identified resource and curriculum challenges. Overall, the study emphasized the significant role of these materials in enhancing both English proficiency and vocational skills in vocational high schools

    Technology Acceptance Model in Socrative as a Learning Grammar Software: Higher Education Students’ Perception

    Technological advancement that are happening today provide many conveniences, including in the world of education, especially teaching writing. The main objective of this research is to find out how students perceive the use of Socrative to teach English grammar. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. Students enrolled in the second semester of the English Education Study Program for the 2022–2023 academic year are the participants. Interviews and questionnaires were used to collect data for this investigation. The questionnaire included 20 (twenty) items regarding perceived utility and perceived ease of use, which the  technology acceptance model (TAM) theory has developed to ensure the reliability and validity of the questionnaire. The findings of this research indicated that students have a very good evaluation of the use of social constructions in teaching grammar. The results proved that they accept the application of Socrative well in their learning proces
